USE CHROME'S SPLIT SCREEN EXTENSION TO OPEN TWO PAGES IN A TAB

Sometimes we have to work on two tabs simultaneously. At that time we have to switch between the tabs. I feel lazy to do that. So I searched the alternate for that problem. I have found new extension for Chrome which is called Split Screen.

Split Screen is an extension for Google Chrome that lets us browse two websites within a single tab of our browser. The extension splits our browser into two windows, where we can separately enter url’s and surf effectively. This extension can be really helpful on wide screen monitors, which will give you endless real world uses. The features of this extension are given below.
  1. Compare search results to two search engines side-by-side.
  2. Surf one website till the other one is loading like a buffering video, rather than waiting or switching tabs to see whether the website has opened or not.
  3. Comparing products on two websites.
And many more as you want!
If you want to install this extension click here from your Chrome browser to install this extension. Then click the Split Screen button in the Chrome's tool bar. This will open a new splited tab.

HOW TO OPEN ACCIDENTALLY CLOSED TAB IN CHROME AND FIREFOX

While browsing we have to use multiple tabs in a single window. But the thing is we may accidentally close tab while switching among the tabs. If we don't know the URL means we have to take more risk to open the same page. But there is some ways to get the page again. I have given the ideas below.

For Firefox :
  • Press Ctrl + Shift + T to open the last closed tab.
If you press Ctrl+Shift+T again then it will open the second last closed tab.
  • Right click on tab bar and select "Undo Close Tab"

You can repeat the same way to open the second last closed tab.

For Chrome :
  • Press Ctrl + Shift + T to open the last closed tab.
If you press Ctrl+Shift+T again then it will open the second last closed tab (Same as Firefox)
  •   Right click on tab bar and select "Reopen Closed Tab"

Here also you can repeat the same way to open the second last closed tab.

                    1.    Google started in January, 1996 as a research project at Stanford University, by Ph.D. candidates Larry Page and Sergey Brin when they were 24 years old and 23 years old respectively.
                 2.    Google is a mathematical term 1 followed by one hundred zeroes. The term was coined by Milton Sirotta, nephew of American mathematician Edward Kasne.
                 3.    The name Google™ was an accident. A spelling mistake made by the original founders who thought they were going for ˜Googol™”.
                4.    Google consists of over 450,000 servers,  racked up in clusters located in data centers around the world.
                 5.    When Serge Brin and Larry Page were born, Bill Gates had a nervous breakdown.
                6.    Atlantis, Shakespeare’s unknown diaries and Mozart’s unreleased album were found using Google.
                7.    The infamous “I’m feeling lucky” button is nearly never used. However, in trials it was found that removing it would somehow reduce the Google experience. Users wanted it kept. It was a comfort button.

                 18.    According to Google “As the web grows search becomes more and more important”. It acts like a library , the bigger the library the more important is the index.
                 19.    The biggest break in search came when Google introduced their improved spell checker seen as “Did you mean ? ”.This feature doubled their traffic and soon the developers discovered that the ideal placement was at the bottom of the search results.

BEST MEDIA PLAYERS ( MUSIC PLAYERS ) FOR FREE DOWNLOAD

Even though Windows Media Player is a suitable software for music player functions, it has some limitations. So I have searched some free music players and listed below for you. These are the best softwares for playing music and video.
1. GOM Player :
GOM Player, or Gretech Online Movie Player is a Windows-based free media player. It scores over other traditional media players in that it can play most media files without having to obtain a codec and can also play broken, damaged or incomplete media files. I would personally recommend GOM Player for its great performance, light interface and flexibility.

2. Songbird :
If you want an Open Source-customizable alternative to WMP, Songbird is the way to go. It is highly customizable with a host of plug-ins and offers the user endless hours of seamless playback. Clarity and customization come naturally to this software, which is true to its name and easily syncs with most media players and smart phones.

3. Foobar2000 :
Now if being experimental is your kind of game, you needn’t look further than Foobar2000. It is an advanced Windows-based free audio player, which may not seem like much at first glance but can be completely  customized according to your wishes right from the interface itself! However, this is an audio-only software.

4. KMPlayer :
Another great freeware for playing a variety of audio and video files is KMPlayer. Adding to its ability to support a large number of formats is its ability to capture screenshots of audio and video.

5. Media Player Classic :
Although Media Player Classic looks like an older version of WMP, it has several additional features such as a built-in DVD player, AVI subtitle support etc. It is also light and can play various formats without needing any special codec.

6. VLC Media Player :
One of the best free multimedia players on the block, VLC Media Player is highly portable and supports a majority of audio and video formats. It can also be used for media file conversions as well as streaming protocols.

 7. WinAmp :
Finally, to conclude the list, there is good ol’ WinAmp. This player has been around for a long time indeed and supports most audio and video formats while also syncing to portable media players. It be customized and give excellent sund quality with the use of enhancing plug-ins. However, it runs a little slow, and I’ve seen from personal experience that it crashes when used with GoogleTalk.

Hope you like this post, if you know more free music players means, inform me through comments...

HOW TO PROTECT YOUR GMAIL ACCOUNT FROM HACKERS

Last week one of my friend has lost his Gmail account. Someone hacked my friend's Gmail account. There is no way to get that account again. So I searched about hacking and while searching I got the following.
Hackers at Defcon demonstrated a tool to hack into GMail accounts by snooping unencrypted data (man-in-the-middle attack) with cookie which Google GMail uses for everything other than login by default.

Google introduced the ability to optionally encrypt any transmission to / from GMail and not just the login sequence. Previously GMail used to encrypt the login sequence only. All other data was transmitted unencrypted over the wire making such hacking possible. Every email, every article that you are reading on your GMail account is transmitted unencrypted over the web.

This makes it possible for an attacker sniffing traffic on the network to insert an image served from http://mail.google.com and force your browser to send the cookie file, thus getting your session ID. Once this happens the attacker can log in to the account without the need of a password. People checking their e-mail from public wireless hotspots are obviously more likely to get attacked than the ones using secure wired networks.

How can you protect your GMail account from hacking?
The solution is surprisingly simple. After logging in to GMail go to Settings (General tab). At the bottom of the page you will notice Browser Connection. Change it to Always use https. Now save the settings. In Google's words:

To enable this feature in Gmail:

       1. Sign in to Gmail.
       2. Click Settings at the top of any Gmail page.
       3. Set 'Browser Connection' to 'Always use https.'
       4. Click Save Changes.
       5. Reload Gmail.

That's all you need to protect your GMail account from getting hacked. However there are few caveats.
   1. GMail may become slightly slower. Personally I think it is an acceptable cost for security but you decide.
   2. Gmail Notifier users must download a patch for GMail Notifier (Gmail Notifier is a downloadable application that alerts you whenever you have new Gmail messages) to work with this setting.
   3. You may see errors in the Gmail for mobile application from enabling this setting.
